SEN Teacher Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join our clients' schools across London. As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and Implement IEPs: Create and implement individualized education plans that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  2. Design Engaging Lesson Plans: Develop and deliver lesson plans that are inclusive and engaging for students with various learning styles.
  3. Collaborate with Support Staff: Work closely with support staff, parents, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to each student's education.
  4. Assess and Track Progress: Regularly assess and track student progress, adapting teaching methods as necessary.
  5. Provide a Supportive Learning Environment: Create a supportive and nurturing learning environment that encourages student growth and confidence.
  6. Attend Staff Meetings and Training: Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices.
Requirements:
  1. Qualified Teacher Status: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  2. SEN Experience: Have experience working with children with SEN, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning difficulties.
  3. Strong Understanding of SEN Policies: Possess a strong understanding of current SEN policies and best practices.
  4. Excellent Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Patience and Empathy: Show patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for teaching and supporting students with special needs.
