The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join its Board as a Non-Executive Director. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining oversight of the organisation's operations and holding the FCA Executive to account.

The FCA Board is responsible for developing the strategic direction of the organisation, scrutinising its performance, and overseeing the delivery of its multi-year transformation programme. The Board also holds the Chief Executive and executive team to account and provides appropriate challenge.

The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, excellent judgement, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. They will also have an appreciation of the role played by financial services regulation in enhancing market integrity, protecting consumers, and promoting effective competition.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop, promote, and act at all times in the best interests of the FCA. They will also be responsible for applying relevant knowledge and expertise to the Board's debates and decision making.

Key responsibilities of the Non-Executive Director role include:

  • Developing the strategic direction of the organisation
  • Scrutinising the performance of the organisation
  • Overseeing the delivery of the FCA's multi-year transformation programme
  • Holding the Chief Executive and executive team to account
  • Applying relevant knowledge and expertise to the Board's debates and decision making
