About the Role

Spencer Clarke Group is seeking a qualified tutor to join their team as a Functional Skills Tutor. This contract-based position involves working with migrant students aged 16-19, providing education and training under the Migrant Employment Framework.

The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching functional skills English and/or Maths, holding an academic qualification at level 3 or higher. They should also possess excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with students who cannot access school or college due to full places.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver functional skills education and training to migrant students
  • Work collaboratively with the Migrant Education, Employment and Adult Skills team
  • Coordinate an approach linking school English as an Additional Language to adult English for Speakers of Other Languages

Requirements:

  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant subject
  • Experience teaching functional skills in a further education or community setting
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure and professional reference checks required

Salary and Benefits:

This role offers a competitive hourly rate of £29-£34 per hour, depending on qualifications. Flexible working hours are available, and the company is open to discussing this further with the right candidate.
