Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Opportunity

A leading engineering team is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in the development of light helicopters for the global market.

The company designs, develops, and manufactures their products in the UK, with extensive financial backing and a growing order book. This presents an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to work on innovative projects, utilizing their skills and experience to deliver iconic aircraft to the global market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop mechanical design schemes and detailed designs of various aircraft parts and assemblies.
  • Carry out the design and development of systems such as landing gear, flight controls, cabin seating, engine installations, or rotor systems.
  • Conduct concept development for mechanical systems.
  • Utilize hand calculations, simulation methods, modeling tools, and CAE tools to size, analyze, and optimize system elements.
  • Design mechanical systems using 3D CAD.
  • Develop part and system testing plans.
  • Support in-house prototype build.
Requirements:
  • BSc/BEng in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven mechanical design, analysis, and development experience.
  • Proficient in modeling parts and assemblies in 3D CAD.
  • Proficient in carrying out engineering calculations and the use of modeling and simulations software.
  • Experience in developing mechanical systems from concept to reality.
