Job Title: Dispensary Sr Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our Technical Services department at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Dispensary Sr Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in managing the technical services unit and deputising for the Lead Technician in their absence.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be enthusiastic and self-motivated, and have experience working in a hospital pharmacy production unit. You will be responsible for assisting with the management of the workload and coordinating the workflow for sterile and non-sterile dispensing in the technical services unit. This will include liaising with Chemotherapy day unit staff of all grades to support the workflow.

You will also be responsible for generating reports on technical services unit performance, maintaining effective communication links with Principal Pharmacist, Principal Technician and Quality Assurance Manager, and ensuring that all legal and procedural requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with managing the workload and coordinating the workflow for sterile and non-sterile dispensing in the technical services unit.
  • Liaise with Chemotherapy day unit staff of all grades to support the workflow.
  • Generate reports on technical services unit performance.
  • Maintain effective communication links with Principal Pharmacist, Principal Technician and Quality Assurance Manager.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experience:

  • BTEC or NVQ 3 Pharmaceutical Sciences equivalent recognised qualification.
  • GPHC registered.
  • Training undertaken within a hospital environment.
  • Recent relevant BAND 4 Technician with experience in NHS Technical services experience.
