NFU Graduate (Agricultural Policy) Job Description

Salary: £25,500 per annum, including a £1,000 Graduate Welcome Payment and up to £2,000 for relocation costs.

Location: Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, with flexible working arrangements.

We are the largest and most influential farming organisation in the UK, shaping attitudes towards British farming and leading on key issues like climate change, food standards, and rural crime.

This comprehensive programme is designed to develop your knowledge of the agricultural and horticultural industries, helping you launch your career.

You will work on complex projects, collaborating with stakeholders from government ministers to farmers at local NFU branches. Your tasks will include research, policy delivery, and communication.

In year one, you will be based at our HQ, working with teams across our Policy Directorate. We value diversity and do not require a specific degree for this role. You will learn on the job, so no prior knowledge of the agricultural sector or policy advocacy is necessary.

  1. Building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  2. Communicating effectively and expressing your views.
  3. Working in various locations throughout the UK and potentially Brussels.

We offer a range of benefits, including:

  • A generous holiday allowance.

  • Enhanced parental leave policies.
  • Performance-related pay.
  • A competitive pension and life assurance scheme.
  • Access to interest-free loans.
  • An Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Discounts on various products and services.
