Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified secondary teacher to join our team at Long-term Teachers Ltd. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and flexibility, with the ability to adapt quickly to different school environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging lessons to students across various secondary subjects, ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of regular teaching staff.
  • Maintain discipline and foster a positive, respectful learning environment in line with each school's behaviour policies.
  • Be flexible and prepared to teach across a range of subjects and year groups, from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4 (ages 11-16), depending on school needs.
  • Use varied teaching strategies to engage students of differing abilities and learning styles, ensuring all students can access the curriculum.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff and leadership, following school policies and contributing to the overall school environment.
  • Provide feedback on student progress to the relevant teachers or heads of department, ensuring learning objectives are met.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential for all applicants. Specialism in any secondary subject is welcomed.
  • Experience: Previous experience teaching in a secondary school environment is highly desirable, although NQTs/ECTs are encouraged to apply.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments, year groups, and subjects as required.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Clear communication with students, staff, and parents is essential to ensure smooth integration into various schools.
  • Classroom Management Skills: Confidence in managing classrooms effectively, promoting a positive learning environment for all students.
  • Enhanced DBS Check: All applicants must have or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.
