Job Role: Combustion Engineer

Location: HMP Wayland

Salary: £39,000

Contract: Full time/Perm

We are seeking a dedicated Combustion Engineer to join our team at HMP Wayland, a Category C & male prison. Our team works together to create a safe and nurturing environment, and as a Combustion Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the prison.

As a Combustion Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues who are dedicated to making a positive difference. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heating systems, ensuring compliance with Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements, and working to Gas safe (installation and use) regulations 1998 and associated industry Standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and repairing heating systems
  • Ensuring compliance with Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements
  • Working to Gas safe (installation and use) regulations 1998 and associated industry Standards
  • Providing excellent organisational, time management and people skills

Requirements:

  • Two years experience working in a role as a heating engineer, a combustion engineer or equivalent
  • Familiarity with and ability to work to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements
  • Familiarity with and ability to work to Gas safe (installation and use) regulations 1998 and associated industry Standards
  • Experience of working with commercial catering gas appliances
  • Plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating) and NVQ level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent
  • CCN1 - Core domestic gas safety and relevant domestic appliance units
  • COCN1 - Core commercial gas safety certificate and relevant commercial units
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge
