Job Title: Foundry Specialist

The Workshop is currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Foundry Specialist. This position is crucial to the success of our anode casting operation, where you will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations.

This role involves working in a fast-paced environment with exposure to molten metals. You will be required to manually handle heavy loads and work in very hot conditions.

We are looking for a team player who possesses excellent communication skills and is able to work independently when necessary.

Your duties will include:

• The melting process
• Spectrographic melt analysis
• The casting process
• Insert production
• Machine-shop operations including Hydraulic press operations, grinding and fettling
• Foundry and machine-shop housekeeping and maintenance
• Equipment and tooling maintenance and cleaning
• Packing and materials handling including Forklift operations
• Mould and special insert fabrication and welding
• Stock Control

You will also be required to assist with other production tasks as needed.

If you have experience in a foundry environment and possess a valid driver's licence and counterbalance forklift truck licence, this would be advantageous.

Salary: £12.50 per hour (increasing to £13.50 after 6 months)

Working Hours:

This is a full-time position requiring 42 hours of work per week, Monday to Friday. Weekend overtime may be available.
