About the Position:

Austin Fraser is a well-established family-run business, renowned for its exceptional culinary experiences and commitment to excellence.

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Chef to manage our kitchen operations, contributing to the development of new menus and ensuring high standards of quality and service.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement creative menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
  • Manage stock ordering, rotation, and supplier relationships, prioritising quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations, maintaining high standards of organisation and coordination.
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of kitchen and personal hygiene, adhering to 5* Hygiene Rating protocols.
  • Provide coaching and support to colleagues, promoting a positive team atmosphere and encouraging open communication.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, attending training sessions and workshops to improve skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • NVQ+ in catering and food safety.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a busy culinary environment, preferably with a 5* Hygiene Rating.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • High standards in kitchen and personal hygiene, with attention to detail and consistency.
  • Excellent timekeeping and attendance, with commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Professionalism and strong team player qualities, with a customer-focused mindset.

Salary and Benefits:

  • A competitive salary of £29,000 - £31,000 per annum, based on experience.
