**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Editorial Assistant to join our Publishing team at Cambridge Science Park on a full-time temporary basis (12 months). As an Editorial Assistant, you will provide critical support to an Executive Editor and their team with commissioning and promotional activities.

**Key Responsibilities:*

  • Retrieve data from databases, send electronic mailings, and update journal blogs.
  • Respond to general queries from potential authors and manage shared journal mailboxes.
  • Arrange Editorial Board meetings, book venues, and arrange travel and accommodation.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties and projects as required.
  • Progress the RSC's Publishing strategy for core and new product development.

**Requirements:**

  • Previous administration experience.
  • Efficiency in using software packages associated with PCs.
  • Good organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Good communications skills and proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in Scientific, Technical and Medical (STM) publishing is desirable.
