The Recruitment Bunker is exclusively seeking a Financial Operations Manager for a prominent privately held group of innovative and diverse companies situated in Perth. This role will involve direct reporting to the company's Directors. As the Financial Operations Manager, you will oversee the daily financial activities of the organization, managing a team of 5 finance professionals.

The successful candidate will be tasked with supervising the financial functions of the organization, including managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring precise and timely financial reporting, and collaborating with various departments to enhance financial processes. This position demands strong analytical capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to convey financial information effectively to stakeholders.

Role Overview

  • Position: Financial Operations Manager
  • Salary: DOE
  • Holidays: 30 days, with an additional day for each year of service, up to a maximum of 5. Option to purchase an additional 5 days.

Our client operates as a leading privately owned conglomerate, encompassing a variety of sectors across Scotland and the UK. This multi-faceted group has expanded organically over the last 50 years, specializing in areas such as automotive manufacturing, construction, technical consultancy, composite manufacturing, property investment, land development, mechanical services, plumbing, electrical services, renewable technologies, software development, and the Internet of Things.

The organization is housed in a state-of-the-art office facility in Perth, recognized with the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) Gold standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting transactions for the group of companies.
  • Lead and manage a team of 5 accounting professionals.
  • Prepare Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Forecasts for the company directors.
  • Develop budget forecasts.
  • Ensure timely publication of financial statements.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
  • Calculate taxes and prepare tax returns.
  • Ensure all accounts payable and receivable are reconciled by your team.
  • Guarantee timely bank payments are processed by your team.
  • Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
  • Report on the financial health and liquidity of the organization.
  • Conduct audits of financial transactions and documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial data and perform database backups as necessary.
  • Develop, implement, and adhere to financial policies and regulations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications in finance or accounting.
  • Significant experience as an Accountant or Finance Manager.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting regulations and procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficient in accounting software, including Sage.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, including V-lookups and pivot tables.
  • Experience with general ledger functions.
  • Recognized accounting qualification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Must possess full rights to work in the UK; sponsorship or work permits will not be provided.
