The Role

Willmott Dixon is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our in-house Infrastructure team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a collaborative team that is passionate about delivering excellent technical solutions.

This role would suit a CCNA certified Network Analyst with a strong background in network support and infrastructure engineering. You will have a proven track record of providing high-level technical support for networks, including WAN, LAN, Firewall, Proxy, and Wireless technologies.

As a Network Engineer at Willmott Dixon, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical support for the network, including troubleshooting and resolving issues
  • Configuring and administering network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Implementing and maintaining network security measures, including VPNs and proxy technologies
  • Collaborating with the Infrastructure Team to design and implement network solutions
  • Providing training and support to other teams on network-related topics

Key Responsibilities

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing technical support for the network, including WAN, LAN, Firewall, Proxy, and Wireless technologies
  • Effectively utilising our ITSM ticket management system to manage and maintain work to a high standard
  • Ensuring technical compliance with Service, Technical, and Security standards across the network service
  • Supporting the Microsoft Teams telephony service to ensure it is running optimally for the business
  • Recommending site connectivity solutions and collaborating with sites to assure effective implementation

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • CCNA level, LAN, WAN, and routers protocols
  • Configuration of Network Layer 2/3 devices
  • Cisco ASA Firewall, FortiGate Firewall, configuring and administering VPN setups
  • Working knowledge of QOS
  • A good understanding of proxy technologies (preferably Zscaler and FortiNet FortiSASE)
