Purchase Ledger Clerk Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our team based in Finsbury Park. As a key member of our accounts payable function, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient processing of invoices and payments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coding and checking invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Reconciling accounts payable ledger to ensure all bills and payments are accounted for
  • Verifying and investigating discrepancies in vendor accounts and monthly statements
  • Performing day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables data
  • Preparing bank deposits and processing pro forma invoices via company credit card/Bacs
  • Ensuring the efficient running and coordination of all accounts payable functions
  • Filing and archiving of all accounts payable documentation
  • Providing excellent customer service and responding to email and phone queries

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, preferably within an accounts payable/purchase ledger function
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to process data accurately
  • Polite and professional telephone manner
