Asset Building Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled Asset Building Surveyor to join our Housing Property team at Central Bedfordshire Council. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering core business functions to ensure the governance of property, including maintenance, investment, and health and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Inspection and Project Management: Conduct thorough inspections of council-owned properties to identify defects and prioritize repairs. Project manage the rectification of properties, ensuring works are completed to time, quality, and budget.
- Contractor Management: Manage, administer, and supervise contractors delivering inspection, risk assessment, renovation, servicing, and maintenance to council-owned property.
- Surveying and Inspections: Conduct surveys and inspections of council-owned property to diagnose repair defects and order effective remedial works.
- Project Coordination: Work with contractors to place orders for remedial works, manage the works, and monitor from start to completion. Attend contractor meetings and support other teams with surveying tasks.
- Qualifications and Experience: You will be HND or degree qualified, or have relevant experience in an appropriate profession. You will have some experience of managing capital and revenue works, ideally in a social housing environment.
This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead on the design, procurement, and administration of various projects, refurbishment, responsive repairs, and cyclical maintenance on behalf of Central Bedfordshire Council's Housing Property team.
