Accounting and Payroll Manager

About the Role:As an Accounting and Payroll Executive, you will be responsible for leading a small team of Purchase Ledger and Payroll professionals. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the accurate and timely processing of purchase invoices, reconciliations, and payroll functions. You will also be responsible for managing month-end and year-end procedures, including reconciliations and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate the Accounts Payable team to ensure timely and accurate processing of purchase invoices and reconciliations.
- Manage month-end and year-end procedures, including reconciliations and reporting.
- Oversee the cash book, ensuring transactions are posted accurately and bank accounts are reconciled regularly.
- Process and pay staff expenses and company credit cards, ensuring all transactions are authorised and documented.
- Administer payroll functions, including processing joiners and leavers, and ensuring accurate submission of statutory returns.
- Engage in project work and suggest improvements to procedures within your areas of responsibility.
- Proven experience in an Accounts Payable role with leadership responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of purchase ledger and cash book.
- Strong understanding of monthly payroll processes and UK payroll legislation.
- Proficiency in finance software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
