Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Scientific Data Analyst to join our team at the Medical Research Council. As a key member of our data management team, you will be responsible for validating and analysing complex scientific datasets. Your expertise in in-vivo experimentation and data management will enable you to make a significant contribution to our research efforts.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Validate and analyse scientific datasets to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Develop and maintain data analysis pipelines for varied biological datasets
  • Liaise with researchers and animal technicians to determine necessary steps in data validation
  • Flag, review, investigate and resolve issues in in-vivo datasets
  • Manage and maintain database tables and relationships within database

Requirements:
  • Qualification in the life sciences (PhD or MSC) or strong equivalent experience
  • Advanced understanding of in-vivo experimentation
  • Technical skill and aptitude in at least one of the following: code, SQL, database management, Excel VBAs, Tableau/Power BI or others if justified

Working Relationships:
You will be part of the Data Management team and will report to the Head of Data Management. The Data Management team works closely with the phenotyping team as they gather datasets. The Data Management team will also work alongside other informatics teams.
