Coachbuilder HGV Fitter/Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Coachbuilder HGV Fitter/Mechanic to join our team in Coventry. The successful candidate will have experience in stripping and rebuilding HGV class 1 and 2 vehicles, as well as modifying vehicles to convert them to armored HGVs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle conversion, with experience in stripping interior and exterior cabs, removing base vehicle equipment, and working within small cells to fit and integrate new parts.
The role will involve working on a variety of tasks, including:
- Strip and rebuild HGV class 1 and 2 vehicles
- Strip interior and exterior cab
- Modifications to convert to an armored HGV
- Removing base vehicle equipment and working within small cells to fit and integrate new parts
- Drilling and lifting and the use of an overhead crane
- Mostly mechanical but some basic electrical work at times such as connecting and looming
- Work on standardizing all reference vehicles in line with project milestones
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience as a Coachbuilder, HGV fitter, PSV Fitter or Vehicle Technician
- Vehicle conversion experience would be advantageous
- OEM track experience could also be considered
- Vehicle bodywork experience
- An affinity for and understanding of the design, engineering and manufacturing challenges of working with vehicles, ideally military vehicles
- Level 3 in heavy or light commercials
In return for your knowledge, expertise and flexibility, you will receive an excellent contract per hour rate of £19.00 PAYE or £25.00 umbrella/Ltd per hour.
