**Senior Data Engineer - Higher Education**

Ventula Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a well-established organization in a key project.

The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for supporting the development of a new data lake and reporting platform. They will take on a leadership role within the team, collaborating with Solution Architects to develop plans and strategies. The ideal candidate will possess strong development skills, with expertise in Python and Spark/PySpark, as well as excellent soft skills to work effectively within a team.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Design and implement data pipelines using Python and Spark/PySpark.
  • Develop and maintain a data lake solution in Azure or similar.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects to develop plans and strategies.
  • Lead the team in implementing data engineering solutions.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate effectively.

**Requirements:**

  • Strong Python skill, with Spark/PySpark experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of implementing a Data Lake solution in Azure or similar.
  • Significant experience and in-depth knowledge of creating data pipelines.
  • Experience in a Technical Lead or Senior Data Engineer role.
  • Management/leadership skills and stakeholder management experience.
