The Role

James Fisher and Sons plc is seeking a skilled Offshore Service Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This role involves a significant amount of travel and work away from base, requiring flexibility and adaptability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and operation of equipment in accordance with Scantech Offshore Maintenance procedures.
  • Preparation of equipment to meet Hire Office requirements.
  • Ensuring service procedures and standards are followed in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Maintaining safety standards as per the Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in an offshore or overseas environment.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office.
  • Offshore Survival training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Diesel engine training / shutdown systems.
  • Pressure testing awareness training.
  • Manual handling awareness training.
  • COSHH awareness training.
  • Work at heights awareness training.
  • Risk assessment training.
  • Offshore medical certificate.
  • Experienced diesel or steam boiler mechanic.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to establish a good rapport with clients while onsite. Strong adaptability and problem-solving skills are also essential for this role.
