About the Role

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team as a Smart Grid Engineer. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in managing and coordinating multiple live smart grid projects within SSE.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Manage and coordinate multiple live projects, ensuring timely completion and meeting customer expectations.
  • Technical Expertise: Develop new solutions to engineering problems, utilizing knowledge and expertise to support testing, change management, and functional design of Smart Grid control systems.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and project success.
  • Knowledge Leadership: Continuously expand your expertise in the electricity network, staying abreast of the latest developments, and serving as a key point of contact and knowledge leader in your field.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in a relevant STEM discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Professional Registration: Professionally registered or working towards professional registration with relevant Engineering Institutions.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrable knowledge of SCADA/distributed control systems engineering, project management qualification (APM, PRINCE2, or equivalent qualification or experience), and strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Business Acumen: Knowledge of the principles of electrical power engineering and ability to learn and understand Smart Grid systems and how they function.
