About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commercial Lawyer to join our team at LAW Absolute. As a key member of our Commercial Team, you will play a vital role in providing expert legal advice and support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality legal advice on commercial, contracts, procurement, trading, and corporate law matters.
  • Independently manage and advise on complex legal issues, with a focus on delivering exceptional results.
  • Deputise for the Principal Lawyer in their absence and assist in the management and supervision of the Commercial Team as required.
  • Support the Principal Lawyer in managing the strategic and operational delivery of the Commercial Team, ensuring a responsive, high-quality, and effective legal service.
Requirements
  • Admitted Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX of England and Wales with a current practising certificate.
  • Excellent knowledge of commercial law, contract law, and procurement legislations and practices.
  • Ability to work independently, anticipate challenges, and deal with them proactively.
  • Flexible approach to teamwork, driven by delivering a high-quality service, and a positive attitude towards building relationships with the team.
  • Ability to evaluate information in complex situations and confidently make decisions independently.
  • Ability to travel to meetings at client offices and work in other office locations when necessary.
  • Commitment to health and safety, equal opportunities, and understanding of physical, social, and welfare needs.
  • Ability to work under pressure, be self-motivated, and meet deadlines.
  • Previous local authority experience is essential.
