About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated General Medical Practitioner to join our team in West Lancashire.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality medical services to the West Lancashire population, working autonomously as a practitioner and contributing to the effective management of the PCN.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver excellent clinical care to patients, ensuring compliance with the GMS contract and adhering to GMC standards for good medical practice.
  • Develop and implement care and treatment plans in consultation with patients, in line with current practice disease management protocols and wider guidance.
  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness, initiating investigations and reviewing results as appropriate.
  • Participate in clinical audits, learning event analyses, and practice meetings to drive quality improvement.
  • Prescribe generically whenever appropriate, in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary, NICE guidance, and Good Prescribing Practice.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the PCN or practice team to achieve agreed key performance indicator targets.
Requirements
  • Qualified GP with full GMC registration, on a performers list, and UK drivers license.
  • Experience of working in a GP practice using EMIS.
  • Observance of strict confidentiality, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to listen and empathise.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, with competent time management and organisational skills.
  • Adaptable and forward-looking, with problem-solving and a solutions-focused approach.
