Smart Transactions (stxn.io) is a pioneering company founded by Vlad Zamfir, a renowned Ethereum researcher and architect. Our mission is to unlock programmability for transactions on Ethereum, enabling new possibilities for decentralized finance (DeFi), protocols, wallets, and smart contracts.

We are a small, elite team of blockchain, finance, and AI experts from diverse backgrounds. With an MVP launch on the horizon and significant exposure expected in 2024, we seek a Senior Rust Engineer to lead our in-house solver strategy and capacities.

This role demands confidence in self-management and intentional communication skills to ensure our remote team remains connected and aligned. Prior knowledge, curiosity, and a strong interest in blockchain, Ethereum, and MEV are desired.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy new features and improvements.
  • Work closely with solidity engineers and blockchain architects to translate high-level designs into robust and efficient code.
  • Contribute to the architectural review and design of new blockchain systems and protocols.
  • Demonstrated experience in and deep understanding of Rust and Solidity required.
  • Experience developing and deploying smart contracts on the Ethereum mainnet.
  • Proven track record of GitHub open-source contributions.
  • Familiarity with best practices in smart contract security and auditing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with ops and infrastructure (e.g., testing, tooling).
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively asynchronously with a multinational team spanning numerous time zones.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on Rust programming.
  • Demonstrated experience in blockchain technology, smart contracts, and decentralized applications (DApps).
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a remote setting.
  • Passionate about decentralized finance (DeFi) and committed to the principles of blockchain technology.
  • Prior experience building formal verification tooling is preferred.
