Job Summary:- Manage and provide the Pharmacy Clinical Trial Service for the Freeman Hospital and its elements, ensuring compliance with EU Clinical Trials Directive and Trust Research Governance Policies.
- Organize and develop clinical pharmacy services in cancer services, incorporating advanced therapies within clinical trials and standard of care settings.
- Audit compliance with Medicines Management Committee, Formulary, and Hospital Trust recommendations across identified areas within the Trust.
- Participate in Trust-wide meetings regarding management and organization of the Pharmacy Clinical Trials Service within the Trust.
- Perform the professional role of a Registered Pharmacist, including advice, supervision, and cooperation with colleagues.
- Develop and implement clinical pharmacy services in cancer services, ensuring compliance with EU Clinical Trials Directive and Trust Research Governance Policies.
- Provide training and education to pharmacy and other staff on handling information on Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs) in accordance with Trust guidelines and National Legislation/Guidance.
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with Medicines Management Committee, Formulary, and Hospital Trust recommendations.
- Participate in Trust-wide meetings to discuss management and organization of the Pharmacy Clinical Trials Service.
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide advice, supervision, and cooperation in the professional role of a Registered Pharmacist.
- Registered Pharmacist with MPharm degree and postgraduate pre-registration training.
- Clinical Diploma or equivalent higher qualification.
- Independent Prescriber qualification or commitment to enter into the next intake for obtaining the qualification.
- Management training course.
- Clinical Masters.
- Extensive post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy, some at a senior level.
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
- Understanding of Clinical Trials legislation.
- Understanding of National Clinical Trials policy and practice.
- Knowledge of clinical research and its role in pharmacy and medicine.
- Well-developed clinical pharmacy knowledge across all aspects of drug use.
- Demonstrate knowledge of CT procedures.
- Demonstrable awareness of developments in Hospital Pharmacy.
- Demonstrate they have undertaken a staff management role.
- Demonstrable involvement in Clinical Trials Support.
- Demonstrate they have been involved in the area of clinical audit.
- Demonstrable awareness of legislation affecting Pharmacy (directly & indirectly).
- Awareness of Trust policies & procedures which impinge on role.
- Specialist knowledge of the cancer services clinical area or directorate.
