About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer I to join our team at American Express. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software applications using Java 17+ and JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Work with agile engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code, ensuring it meets our coding standards and best practices
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve code quality
  • Deploy applications to test and production environments using CICD tools
  • Contribute to the design and development of new features and technologies
Requirements
  • University degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience working with Java 17+ and JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Experience with API development, Spring Boot, and ReactJS
  • Understanding of cloud and CI/CD technologies
  • Experience with Microservice architecture and event-based systems
  • Experience with Git, PostgreSQL, Couchbase, and Redis
  • Experience designing and developing high-performing REST APIs
  • Experience with continuous integration tools and automated build and test frameworks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external business partners
