Job Title: Technologist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technologist to join our team at Lotus Bakeries. As a Technologist, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our products, as well as maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visiting and auditing 3rd party manufacturers to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
  • Maintaining supplier and product risk assessments to identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensuring products are compliant with relevant food and age group legislation, and proactively following up on compliance with any upcoming legislation changes
  • Developing and implementing quality and food safety monitoring processes to ensure products meet specifications
  • Setting supplier KPIs and investigating complaints to identify trends and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and food safety standards are met
  • Streamlining and further developing the Quality Management System with the Lotus QA team

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of HACCP and ability to apply the principles practically to different product categories
  • Good knowledge and awareness of GFSI recognised standards
  • Comfortable performing risk assessments and communicating the outcome of these in an effective way
  • Track record of delivering results in relation to product quality and supplier compliance
  • Previous experience in a technical role, working with cross-functional departments and with 3rd party manufacturers and auditing of suppliers

Desirable Skills:

  • Good knowledge of Quality Management Systems, and ideally experience in writing procedures and/or internal auditing
  • Have good relationship building skills
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize
