We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Head of Compliance and Facilities Management. This is an exciting opportunity to work with Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, a modern and high-performing authority that is committed to delivering excellent services to its communities and businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of our plans and strategies for managing our assets and buildings, ensuring they are fit for purpose and support our teams in delivering a range of diverse services.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of facilities and assets across a large geographical area, including schools, buildings, and other public sector services.
  • Act as the Council's Duty Holder for Health, Safety, and Compliance, ensuring that our buildings and assets meet the highest standards of safety and compliance.
  • Work closely with our Property, Schools PFI, and Climate Teams to deliver a range of projects and activities, including building design services, repairs, and cleaning.
  • Provide advice and support to other services within the Council, ensuring that our buildings and assets are used effectively to support the delivery of high-priority projects.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing a diverse portfolio of facilities and assets, with a strong track record of delivering results.
  • Qualification in Health and Safety, with experience of acting as a Duty Holder for Health, Safety, and Compliance.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of 1100 staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including staff, customers, and partners.
  • Ability to work across different teams and services, with a strong understanding of the Council's business and operations.
