Workshop Stone Cutter Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Stone Cutter to join our team at Nicholas Associates Group Limited. As a key member of our workshop team, you will be responsible for managing the safe and efficient operation of our workshop, overseeing the rework of porcelain and natural stone tiles, and ensuring high-quality products are delivered to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the workshop, ensuring all tasks are completed to the required standard and within agreed timelines.
  • Liaise with the sales team to ensure order specifications are met and samples are completed to the required standard.
  • Work closely with the Samples Team Manager to plan and coordinate samples cutting workload.
  • Ensure required samples are completed on schedule and to the required standard with minimal waste.
  • Basic production scheduling and allocation of staff across the workshop.
  • Drive and maintain high levels of housekeeping standards across the site.
  • Ensure Health & Safety policies, rules, and procedures are always adhered to across the site.
  • Drive process and procedural adherence and improvement within the workshop operation.
  • Order packing and checking as required.
  • Ensure training of staff in all workshop roles as required.
  • General responsibility for the site, shared with the Samples Team Manager.

Essential Requirements:

  • Stone fabrication experience or relevant experience utilizing heavy machinery in a fabrication environment.
  • Experience managing a small team of people.
  • Experience processing heavy fragile goods.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Can-do attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Leads by example.
  • Hands-on.
  • Practical.
  • IT skills - office, email, basic MS Excel knowledge.
