Mechanical Project Manager Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Project Manager to join our team in Coventry. As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing designed and build projects up to £10M (M&E value) across various sectors, including Commercial, Residential, Health, Education, and Leisure.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Gain familiarisation of all project details, including design, drawings, and specification.
  2. Attend Pre-start meetings with Main Contractors.
  3. Develop project programmes with key dates and issue technical submittals for approval.
  4. Procure labour and subcontractor packages with cost savings and meet programme delivery requirements.
  5. Maintain commercial responsibility with value engineering and ensure project profitability.
  6. Project planning and managing progress with Site Managers, ensuring compliance with Contract drawings and specification.
  7. Work closely with Electrical counterparts.
  8. Populate Quality reports and documentation required by Main Contractors.
  9. Progress meetings with Clients and Subcontractors to monitor performance and quality.
  10. Plan and monitor Commissioning stages with Site Managers and subcontractors.
  11. Formulate O&M Manual information working with internal admin and External O&M document builders.
  12. Deliver whole projects to handover and final account stages.
Key Skills:
  1. Demonstrable record of managing multi-million-pound D&B projects as Mechanical Number 1.
  2. Good all-round mechanical knowledge with relevant qualifications.
  3. Effective planning and project management skills.
  4. Commercial awareness with financial performance responsibility.
  5. Good people management and ability to motivate, lead, and maintain relationships.
  6. Excellent written and verbal skills and knowledge of business systems such as 4Projects, Fieldview, and Business Collaborator would be helpful but training available.
Package:

The annual salary for this role is negotiable, circa £60,000, depending on previous experience. In addition, there is a discretionary company bonus scheme, company vehicle, mobile phone, laptop, PPE, and company clothing provided.

Furthermore, 25 days holiday plus stats, private healthcare, and a competitive pension plan are offered.

This role can be based on site, generally across the Midlands, or in the office, with some provision for remote working from home when suitable.
