Dispute Resolution Solicitor Job Description

Themis Recruit is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dispute Resolution Solicitor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dispute resolution, with a minimum of 13 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Case Management: Handle a diverse caseload of dispute resolution matters, including commercial disputes, contract disputes, property disputes, and debt recovery.
  • Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution: Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitration, and mediation sessions, and advise on the merits and risks of litigation versus alternative dispute resolution methods.
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and objectives, and ensuring they are kept informed about the progress of their cases.
  • Negotiation: Engage in settlement negotiations with opposing parties, and strive to resolve disputes amicably and cost-effectively wherever possible.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies, and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all casework.
  • Business Development: Support the team in business development activities, including attending networking events and contributing to marketing initiatives.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues across the firm to provide a seamless service to clients.
Requirements:
  • Education: Qualified Solicitor with a current practicing certificate.
  • Experience: 13 years PQE in dispute resolution or litigation.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to manage a diverse caseload and prioritize effectively, high level of attention to detail and accuracy, proficiency in legal research and drafting, strong negotiation and advocacy skills, client-focused approach with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
