Job DescriptionRole OverviewThe Business Analyst will play a crucial role in managing the implementation of information systems projects and tasks associated with the customer services function. This includes advising senior management in IT and other functions about systems development and support, analyzing business system requirements, and configuring and implementing systems that meet those requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Project Management and Participation
- Participate in and occasionally manage projects approved for the implementation or improvement of systems.
- Report progress to the Project Manager or Solution Architect, including raising issues likely to threaten the implementation plan and an analysis of current and planned costs.
- Contribute to the transition of any support to the Service Desk and liaise with the functional area as required.
- Develop a thorough and up-to-date understanding of the business aspects of the Customers Services and Logistics functions and IT.
- Relate business systems capabilities to the needs of these functions and ensure that projects are relevant, timely, and deliver continuous improvements.
- Have specific expertise in Sales and Distribution processes, including a strong understanding of the related core SAP SD processes and procedures.
- Determine requirements for systems by examining existing systems, defining volumes and processes, and interviewing users.
- Design and amend business processes in conjunction with business users to comply with departmental standards.
- Configure systems according to agreed processes and document clearly in accordance with departmental standards.
- Prepare test data and conduct thorough testing of processes.
- Assist user departments with training, data conversion, and acceptance testing required for the introduction of new processes.
- Contribute to the determination of systems development standards and techniques and ensure adherence to them.
- Operate quality control tests both pre and post-implementation of systems.
- Liaise with Solutions Architect and IT Delivery Manager to coordinate development and live systems support.
- Contribute to the development of departmental policy by acquiring and contributing knowledge of industry trends and their application in business scenarios.
- Provide assistance to the IT Service Desk Team as needed to aid the smooth running of the department.
- Experience of at least one full SAP implementation cycle as a configurer/business analyst.
- At least 3 years of experience in development, configuration, and implementation of SAP SD, MM, and WMS.
- Detailed configuration and application knowledge of the SAP SD module, including Sales Order Processing, Sales Contracts, Condition Techniques, Billing & Invoicing, Output conditions, Logistics Execution, and EDI.
- Experience of SAP EWM is desirable but not essential.
- Broad understanding of business processes associated with all aspects of an FMCG manufacturing operation.
- Broad understanding of business processes associated with all aspects of an FMCG traded operation.
- Proven experience of dealing with technical and business people within the context of IT systems implementation.
