Electrical Installation Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Installation Technician to join our team at Duravant in the DFW, Texas area. This position requires electrical experience in conveyor systems within material handling.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as sorting systems, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
  • Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment; connect cables and wires between machines and equipment.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as motors, scanners, readers, and replace damaged or broken wires and cable.
  • Test malfunctioning machinery and determines malfunction.
  • Ability to terminate power cabinet with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors, and positions sensing devices.
  • Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards
  • Replace electric motor bearings and rewires motors
  • Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in the facility
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and equipment installation specifications.
  • Understanding of the National Electrical Codes (NEC)
  • History in the Material Handling Equipment (MHE) industry.
  • Responsible for quality assurance aspects relative to the job/task performed
  • Adheres to and follow all safety procedures, lock-out/tag-out; report safety concerns, ARC Flash understanding and awareness, use appropriate PPE as required, and follow all safety practices

Requirements:

  • Electrical experience in conveyor systems within material handling
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and equipment installation specifications
  • Understanding of the National Electrical Codes (NEC)
  • History in the Material Handling Equipment (MHE) industry
