Project Planner / Programmer

Seeking an experienced Project Planner / Programmer to join our team in Essex, working on diverse and interesting construction projects. This is a great opportunity to work with a reputable company and contribute to the success of their projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage project and programme schedules to ensure key milestones, activities, and resource requirements are defined and understood.
  • Ensure regular updating and refining of schedules to provide an up-to-date view and incorporate changes arising from programme review.
  • Produce programme schedule progress reports for review with the programme manager and project management team.
  • Generate schedule reports at the required frequency and review and address variances with appropriate programme team members.
  • Input to relevant programme control documentation.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all programme schedule documentation.
  • Assess, identify, and report on the impacts of potential and actual changes to the project.
  • Troubleshoot, assess, present, and recommend actions related to planning of risks, issues, and recovery planning.
  • Make recommendations for updates to schedule for recovery programmes.
  • Incorporate resources into schedules for budgets, expenditure, and resource analysis.
  • Integrate project schedules, progress measurements, and reports from subcontractors/vendors.
  • Prepare periodic reports on the status of the project and look ahead schedules for the next period.
  • Support the projects director and programme manager to report on the overall resource availability for the company.
  • Assist on proposals and tender bid documents.
  • Provide planning direction, training, and support to key members of the project team.
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 or ONC qualification (or equivalent).
  • Working knowledge in computer planning software Primavera P6.
  • Demonstrable experience in the construction industry is essential.
  • Proven ability to review and identify risks in plans and monitor different risk factors.
  • Proven ability to execute detailed planning in a short time period.
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP and PV and schedule risk analysis tools and processes.
  • Ability to focus on results and tackle problems or conflicts that threaten their achievement.
  • Drive and enthusiasm to work to tight deadlines and bring a sense of urgency to situations.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and exercise tolerance and consistency when dealing with others.
  • Accommodating and receptive to change.
  • Confident, articulate, and a self-starter who can work alone and deliver results.
  • Represent the company with integrity and professionalism.
Working Conditions:
  • Head Office.
  • Project sites.

Salary circa 80-90k for the right person.
