Job SummaryAs a Specialist Chemotherapy Nurse, you will be responsible for administering a range of haematological and solid tumour chemotherapy treatments to patients in their own homes. You will work closely with patients, carers, and healthcare professionals to provide personalized support and ensure that patients receive the best possible care.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Administer chemotherapy treatments to patients in their own homes
- Conduct clinical assessments to determine the suitability of patients for home IV oncology treatment
- Provide education and support to patients and carers on the safe administration of chemotherapy medications
- Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a valid NMC registration
- Qualified in administering cytotoxic drugs
- Experience in administering oncology medications, either in hospital or community settings
- Experience in undertaking clinical assessments and administering sub-cutaneous injections
- Experience in the care of IV devices and administration of IV therapies
