Vocational Qualifications Specialist

Pearson is seeking an experienced Senior Standards Expert to join our team. As a Senior Standards Expert, you will be responsible for ensuring that national standards are achieved and upheld by monitoring assessment and internal verification for various programs within our Principal Subject Area (PSA).
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking sampling of assessment and internal verification decisions and records for Sports and Coaching Qualifications within our PSA to affirm that national standards have been achieved and upheld.
- Supporting, advising, and guiding centres based on the outcomes of the sampling process.
- Directing centres in the delivery of WBL Sports and Coaching towards meeting compliance requirements.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Substantial recent experience in verification of qualifications within the sector.
- A teaching/training qualification at Level 3 or above.
- Significant experience in delivering and assessing vocational qualifications.
- Lower or higher level assessment and delivery experience across a range of qualifications.
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in the field of assessment and delivery of vocational qualifications.
- A clear understanding of the educational landscape and regulatory requirements for qualifications within the Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) and National Qualification Framework (NQF).
- Detailed knowledge of the specifications that comprise the area of expertise for the role.
- Excellent report writing skills and the ability to edit materials to ensure they are grammatically correct and fit for purpose.
- Excellent communication, written, verbal, IT, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand the implications of decisions taken on Pearson's behalf and not to operate outside the sphere of responsibility defined within this job description.
- Demonstrable people management skills.
We offer a competitive salary of £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits including a generous pension scheme, annual leave, and access to training and development opportunities.
