About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Publicity Officer to join our team at Duckworth, a leading independent publisher of quality non-fiction and literary fiction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the company's social media presence across various platforms, creating engaging content to promote our titles and brand.
  • Assist in organizing book trade events and conferences to showcase our authors and publications.
  • Support in-house publicity campaigns, working closely with the lead publicist to develop and implement effective promotional strategies.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities for publicity and promotion, crafting compelling pitches and proposals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media contacts, journalists, and influencers to secure press coverage and reviews.
  • Produce regular publicity updates and reports to support the sales team in their efforts to promote our titles.
  • Maintain accurate records of press, radio, and TV coverage, as well as perform general administrative tasks related to publicity and marketing.
Requirements
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in publicity or a related field.
  • Strong social media proficiency and confident communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of press and media outlets, as well as the ability to source and organize information effectively.
  • Initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for publishing and a demonstrated interest in the industry.

What We Offer
  • A competitive salary range of £26,000-£28,000 pro rata, depending on experience.
