Avoiding Accidents and Ensuring Compliance

Irwin & Colton Limited requires a Health & Safety Consultant/Risk Assessor in Milton Keynes to work on a short-term contract basis. The position offers a salary of circa £160,000 per annum (outside IR35), providing an excellent opportunity to contribute to the company's safety performance.

The consultant will be responsible for conducting comprehensive health and safety risk assessments, developing training materials, and creating action plans to ensure compliance and safety improvements. They will also assist in maintaining and improving the health and safety management system.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks, ensuring a safe working environment.
  2. Develop Training Materials: Create informative guides and resources to educate employees on health and safety procedures.
  3. Create Action Plans: Develop and implement plans to address identified risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  4. Maintain Health and Safety Systems: Collaborate with the team to maintain and improve the health and safety management system, ensuring it remains effective and up-to-date.

Requirements:

  1. Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience in a similar consultancy role, preferably in the manufacturing, chemicals, heavy engineering, or mechanical industry.
  2. Relevant Qualifications: Possession of relevant health and safety qualifications, such as NEBOSH or NCRQ.
  3. Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels, ensuring they understand health and safety procedures.
