Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Craftsman to join our team at HMP The Verne, a category C adult male prison. As a Carpenter inc Locksmith, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced colleagues in a supportive and driven family environment. Your skills will impact every prisoner, employee, and visitor, and wider to the families and community.

About Us: Gov Facilities Services Limited (GFSL) is a Ministry of Justice business providing critical services to HMPPS. We offer a range of benefits, including 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, Death in Service, private GP consultations, and an Employee Assistance Programme.

Key Responsibilities:
  • • Substantiated experience in a similar role
    • Ability to display competency in the use and operation of all associated power tools and machinery
    • Basic IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word
    • Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements
    • Up to date First Aid at Work Qualification
    • City & Guilds, National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 3 in Carpentry or equivalent qualification/substantial experience
    • Good Health & Safety knowledge

Salary: £31,000 per annum including £1,000 Recruitment & Retention Allowance.
