AI Security Engineer

Barclays is seeking a highly skilled AI Security Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our digital landscape and driving innovation in AI security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement solutions to protect our systems and sensitive information from AI-related threats.
  • Focus on key skills such as Machine Learning (ML) and AI expertise, including knowledge of LLMS, GANS, Transformers, and adversarial attacks like model inversion.
  • Understand GenAI-specific risks, such as recognizing unique vulnerabilities like prompt injection and jailbreaking.
  • Conduct threat modeling and risk analysis to identify potential attack vectors in GenAI systems.
  • Respond to incidents by detecting adversarial attacks or misuse of generated content with GenAI.
  • Secure AI workloads on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) involving encryption, secure key management, and robust access controls.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, data processing, and AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
  • Hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, encryption).
  • Experience with threat modeling, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments in AI environments.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
  • Familiarity with secure software development practices (e.g., OWASP, DevSecOps).
  • Experience in cloud security and securing AI workloads on platforms such as AWS or Azure.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CEH, or others in relevant fields.

This role is primarily based in Knutsford with additional locations in Glasgow and Northampton.

  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.

  • Collaborate with other areas of work for business-aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and strategies.
