About the Role

The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Genomic Practitioner to join our developing and growing service. As a key member of our team, you will work alongside our Genetic Counselling team to support the delivery of a high-quality clinical genetics service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of a high-quality clinical genetics service, working alongside the Genetic Counselling team.
  • Conduct sensitively gathered information from patients before and after clinics to support their assessment, including family history details.
  • Liaise with other departments and NHS trusts to obtain relevant information, including confirming diagnoses and test results.
  • Support the consent and sample process for patients who have been identified for Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) testing.
  • Assist the research team in increasing opportunities for patients to participate in research, and supporting patient registries for inherited and rare disease.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with excellent interpersonal abilities, experience in a clinical setting, and strong organisational skills. You will have a strong understanding of genetic principles and be able to communicate complex information to patients and colleagues.
