About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Vascular Specialist to join our renowned Vascular Ultrasound Service at Barts Health NHS Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care, contributing to vascular research, and participating in teaching activities.

The successful candidate will provide clinical diagnostic vascular ultrasound expertise, deliver a comprehensive trust-wide vascular diagnostic ultrasound service, and contribute to the advancement of vascular ultrasound.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide high-quality clinical diagnostic vascular ultrasound services to patients and clinicians across the trust.
  • To maintain accurate records and reports of scanning procedures and findings.
  • To contribute to vascular research and participate in teaching activities as required.
  • To work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • To communicate effectively with medical and technical colleagues, including consultants, nurses, and administrators.

Requirements

  • A degree in a related science field, preferably with a focus on vascular ultrasound.
  • AVS accreditation and SVT membership are essential.
  • Desirable qualifications include an MSc in Vascular Ultrasound or a postgraduate diploma in Vascular Ultrasound.
  • Proven experience in scanning skills, clinical trials, and research publications.
  • Training and supervision of junior clinicians, as well as management of administration staff.
  • Specialist knowledge of vascular ultrasound diagnostic procedures, understanding of responsibilities under clinical governance, and excellent communication skills.
