Job Title: Engineering Transformation Specialist

Location: Portsmouth Naval Base. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements to suit your needs.

Salary: Up to £50,000 depending on skills and experience + bonus package

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Transformation Specialist to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Warship Technical Authority team, you will play a critical role in driving continuous improvement and excellence in our engineering services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and lead the delivery of improvement projects to enhance engineering service outputs across QEC, T45, T23, and Hunt classes
  • Act as the engineering team point of contact for strategic improvements supporting Asset Management transformation
  • Improve interfaces between stakeholders to ensure effective interactions
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with continuous improvement projects
  • Develop and implement policies and processes to improve capability insertion, configuration control, and design change activities
  • Comply with SHE statutory requirements, regulations, and company procedures

Requirements:

Essential Skills:

  • Previous experience in a Continuous Improvement role, ideally with an Engineering and/or Project Management background
  • Good understanding of Lean and Continuous Improvement principles and change management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence stakeholders
  • Ability to set clear direction and drive the team to achieve outputs

Desirable Skills:

  • Continuous Improvement related training/qualifications, such as Lean Six Sigma

About the Warship Technical Authority Team:

Our team of 200+ Engineers sits within the Asset Management arm of BAE Systems, supporting international customers and the UK MoD with Royal Navy Warships at Portsmouth Naval Base.

As the Engineering Transformation Specialist, you will be a senior member of the team, responsible for driving continuous improvement and excellence in our engineering services.
