Production Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Production Technician to join our team at Room At The Top Recruitment. As a Production Technician, you will play a critical role in the manufacture of live virus vaccines, working closely with our empowered work team to ensure the highest quality products.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate and maintain live virus vaccine equipment, adhering to strict quality control procedures.
- Perform line-specific duties, including line check-in, in-process quality monitoring, equipment operation, and work center cleaning and change-over.
- Collaborate with the Lead Technician to implement production plans in accordance with the production schedule.
- Monitor and maintain inventory stock, participating in returns processes and routine Cycle Counts.
- Maintain concurrent records, including manufacturing directions, log sheets, and other pertinent documents.
- Review and verify product batch records for accuracy and compliance with established limits and specifications.
- Participate in direct activities associated with media and intermediate manufacture, preparing, sterilizing, and staging laboratory consumables as needed.
- Check equipment for fitness for purpose, performing routine operational cleaning and maintenance to ensure compliance.
- Operate equipment according to site documentation or manufacturer's instructions, identifying equipment requiring repair or replacement.
- Work in a clean, aseptic environment, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Complete SAP transactions relevant to manufacture within company-specified timeframes, raising purchase requisitions for operating supplies and recommending equipment purchases.
- Collaborate with other departments as required, participating in routine reporting and delegating activities during periods of offsite work or leave.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math aptitude.
- Strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to follow approved documentation practices.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience working in a production laboratory.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
- 2-3 years of relevant manufacturing experience and a basic understanding of manufacturing procedures, techniques, and equipment.
- Working knowledge of cGMP and inventory control concepts.
- Understanding of aseptic techniques and procedures.
- College degree in a relevant scientific field (biology, chemistry, life science) (optional).
- Experience in large-scale bacterial antigen processing.
- Working knowledge of fermentation and fermentation vessels.
- Experience using SAP.
A-levels in science-based subjects.
