Job Title: Senior Supply Chain Manager – Supplier Performance

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Supply Chain Manager to join our team at BAE Systems (New). As a key member of our supply chain leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a supplier performance improvement strategy that drives business growth and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a supplier performance improvement strategy that aligns with business objectives.
  • Champion and coordinate an integrated approach to supplier improvement, working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Define and manage supplier improvement standard tool sets, reporting, and governance approaches.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on best practices and methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
  • Help resolve complex supplier improvement issues and serve as a strategic lead to ensure programs deliver maximum benefit and outcome.
  • Develop a culture of Root Cause Investigations across the BAE Systems supply base using Lean Six Sigma methodology.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in supplier performance improvement working across the procurement structure.
  • Strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, or Total Quality Management.
  • Coaching and supporting internal development as required.

Desirable:

  • Lean practitioner and/or Six Sigma Green Belt.

Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world-class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century. You will be responsible for the development of strategic, critical, and leverage suppliers across Maritime Submarines. You will work across the UK identifying and delivering improvements to mitigate risks to Quality, Cost, and Delivery and maximizing the probability of program success, continuity, and longevity of supply. This role will provide you with an opportunity to work 'in the field' to influence and support the external supply chain.
