Downend Health Group was formed in 2018 through the merger of two well-established practices. The group operates from two purpose-built premises, offering modern healthcare services with a family-friendly approach. We provide extended hour surgeries and are committed to teaching and training, approved to take GP retainers and teach medical students.
Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with an attractive pension scheme and opportunities for development. Our practice is situated close to Page Park, Staple Hill, providing easy access to our facilities.
Job Description
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the Executive Manager in maintaining the practice accounts and take responsibility for bookkeeping
- Manage HMRC payments (PAYE and VAT)
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Oversee systems for recording and banking of cash, cheques, and petty cash
- Reconcile bank accounts and liaise with the Practice bankers
Person Specification
- Essential qualifications: GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths, Finance/Bookkeeping qualification or willingness to work towards AAT
- Experience in QuickBooks or similar bookkeeping system, detailed numerical reconciliations, and working with a multi-skilled team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good personal organisation, used to meeting deadlines
