We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Marine Laboratory Technician to join our team at Tiro. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Benthic Analysis Team and assisting with laboratory testing and analysis of marine sediment and water samples.
Key Responsibilities:- Receiving and processing marine sediment and water samples for analysis
- Assisting with laboratory testing and analysis of samples, including particle size distribution, loss on ignition, and total suspended solids
- Helping with general lab cleaning, recycling, and safely disposing of leftover sample materials
- Assisting senior staff with checking and calibrating equipment
- Collecting water samples from swimming pools at schools and leisure centers in Hampshire and West Sussex
- Collecting water samples from drinking and recreational water facilities on cruise ships
- Passion for science and willingness to learn
- Good attention to detail and ability to think on your feet
- Comfortable using basic Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Full, clean UK driving license
- Available to work potential shift patterns/weekends and participate in a weekend rota
