Main Duties and Responsibilities

The University of Hertfordshire is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Graduate Teaching Fellow to support the provision of teaching, assessments, and student support within the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Subject Group in the Department of Engineering.

As a Graduate Teaching Fellow, you will coordinate and lead practical sessions, assist with the coordination and preparation of module teaching and learning activities, and contribute to personal tutorial and study support programmes.

You will ensure accurate and correct completion of programme-related teaching and learning administration in full compliance with legal, professional, and University requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of teaching and learning activities at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Coordinate and lead practical sessions where appropriate
  • Assist with the coordination and preparation of module teaching and learning activities
  • Contribute to personal tutorial and study support programmes
  • Ensure accurate and correct completion of programme-related teaching and learning administration

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience of supporting learning and teaching or relevant activities in UK Higher Education settings
  • Appropriate teaching ability and experience of digital and educational resources
  • Ability to support students in at least two of the following areas: MATLAB, VHDL, Vivado, MultiSim, Design and Manufacturing of Analogue and/or Digital Electronic Circuits, Electronic Circuits Design, Manufacture, and Testing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate efficiently in a variety of formats to different audiences

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a first degree (or equivalent qualification) in Electronic and Electrical Engineering or other cognate subject relevant to the discipline
