This position sits in the private equity accounting team within group finance, responsible for the accounting, financial control, and reporting around the bank's private equity and fund investments in the UK, Australia, and Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the integrity of the general ledger on a monthly basis, including posting journals and performing key reconciliations
  • Work on and develop budget and forecast models for the business, and present them to different stakeholders
  • Perform valuations of investments, and prepare and review valuation models, including NPV, PE multiples, and fund NAVs
  • Review various investment and legal documentation to ensure the correct accounting treatment is being applied to different investments
  • Periodic reporting to satisfy the needs of various internal and external stakeholders, including daily flash reporting, monthly MI, and audit packs
  • Review the interface between the general ledger, Investec source systems, and various reporting platforms
  • Monitor FX exposures and funding levels with central treasury
  • Prepare annual statutory accounts and work with external auditors
  • Work on various change projects and respond to ad hoc queries
  • Support the accounting function of the US businesses
  • Prepare transactions and accounts for investment properties

Core Skills and Knowledge

  • Qualified accountant with several years' PQE experience
  • Experience in financial services, particularly with private equity and principal investments, desirable
