Job Title: Electrical Improver

At CBRE, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Improver to join our team. As an Electrical Improver, you will play a critical role in ensuring the technical compliance of our clients' buildings and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the technical compliance team in ensuring that electrical equipment and RCDs are tested and inspected in line with the latest guidance and clients' requirements.
  • Work as part of a small testing team to undertake high-quality inspection and testing of electrical equipment in laboratory, office, and other environments.
  • Ensure electrical equipment complies with IET COP 5th Edition and clients' specific requirements.
  • Complete 6-monthly RCD functional checks on time in line with BS7671.
  • Repair electrical equipment while isolations are in place to prevent disruption to science.
  • Carry out EICRs to a high standard with agreed limitations.
  • Support site operation from an electrical perspective.
  • Implement health and safety policies and procedures set out by the client and employer.
  • Attend weekly toolbox talks and complete training set out by the client and employer.
  • Use client compliance software to report on the condition of electrical systems.
  • Liaise with the client, planning team, compliance team, and other stakeholders.
Accountabilities:
  • Reporting to the CBRE Technical Compliance Manager.
  • Responsibility for ensuring delivery of services.
  • Responsible for upkeep of documentation and logbooks.
Person Specification:
  • Recognised PAT testing training course.
  • BS7671 wiring regulations latest amendment.
  • Computer literacy skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.).
  • Proven experience in holding similar roles previously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills (client-facing role).
  • Strong knowledge of IET COP 5th Edition and other relevant requirements.
  • Experience working in critical environments.
